In an educational setting, coping strategies refer to the way in which learners predict, prepare, perceive, manage, react and alter their behaviour when stressed. This stress is often caused by failure, the threat of failure or the belief that failure is inevitable. Learning is more difficult when students lack the necessary strategies to manage stress and anxiety. In a busy world classroom, the mind is constantly pulled from one idea or happening to the next, scattering thoughts and emotions and leaving students feeling stressed, highly-strung and at times quite anxious.
